What the Chronos Frontier demo shows

The Chronos Frontier demo is a slice of the game: the village in the Primitive Era and the ruins right next to it. It is designed to last 1 to 3 hours, and that number still needs to be measured with real players.

The village

You start with the Architect, who teaches the basics in a short tutorial. The village has a campfire for cooking, a forge, a workbench and the guild chest, where the group stores what it brings back from the ruins.

Two visitors arrive during the demo: the Smith and the Herbalist. Each one asks for quests and friendship, and moves into the village when the house is ready. Friendship changes their lines and unlocks recipes.

The ruins

Each trip is a path of 6 to 8 shuffled rooms, with loot, enemies that always warn you before they hit and the Crystal Armadillo at the end. Bringing what you found back to the village is what makes it grow.

What is still a draft

Damage numbers, loot chances and the length of the demo will change with playtesting. The demo covers only the Primitive Era. The Medieval and Industrial eras are not in it yet.
